Vaccinations & Health Status
Your pet’s medical history and information are very important to us. If your pet is not feeling well (e.g., vomiting, diarrhea, etc.), please do not bring him/her to our facility as this may affect other guests to become ill. Owners are required to verify that their pet has been in good health for the last 30 days prior to admission to Woofur. To ensure the safety and well-being of your pet, owners must inform us of any allergies, intolerances, sensitivities, illnesses, physical conditions and/or physical limitations. Please note that if your pet has a communicable condition (e.g., viral infections, or bacterial infections), or is in heat, your pet must remain absent from Woofur until he/she has recovered.
For we to render services on your pet, your pet must comply with our Health and Vaccination Policy, posted here: http://www.woofur.ca/health-vaccine-policy
Emergencies & Veterinarian Care
Should your pet require immediate veterinary attention, Woofur will transport your pet to either the nearest vet to our facility or your preferred vet (if it’s not a life-threatening situation), based on your direction on your registration form. Please note that as the owner, you will be responsible for all medical and veterinarian costs incurred.
Intact, Neutered or Spayed Animals
Dogs do not need to be neutered or spayed in order to attend our daycare facility. However, we will not accept females in heat and may refuse intact males who are overly aggressive.
Behaviour
All dogs staying at Woofur must be non-aggressive. Owners will need to verify that their dog has not harmed or shown aggression or threatening behaviour towards any person or another dog. Please remember that when your dog frequents the daycare play areas he/she will be in contact with many other types of dogs and the health and safety of all animals is our main concern. These play areas will be supervised, however much like a dog park, acts of aggression can happen very quickly and without warning. If your dog does have an incident that Woofur deems unacceptable, Woofur reserves the right to remove your pet to its own separate area for safety reasons until your arrival. Owners are responsible and liable should their pets cause injuries or damages to other animals. Woofur reserves the right to refuse service and permanently expel your pet from our facility without explanation.
Punctuality
Please be on time for your appointments as our staffing is scheduled based on appointment booking times. Please be mindful of our hours of operation when booking appointments. There is a grace period of 15 minutes; however, if you are late beyond the grace period, a late drop-off fee of $15 or a late pickup fee of $15/30 minutes may be assessed.
A no-show fee of $35 will be charged for any missed appointments or cancellations made without 24 hours of advanced notice. Any outstanding charges on your account need to be cleared prior to scheduling any future appointments.
Early Drop Off / Late Pick-Up
If you need to drop off your pet prior to our store hours, we provide an early drop-off service at a rate of $15/30 minutes.
If you need to pick up your pet after close, we provide a late pick-up service at a rate of $15/30 minutes.
Hair Condition
If your pet is matted, we will try our best to de-matt and brush out the tangled hair on your pet, if possible, at a charge of $25 per 20 minutes in addition to the base grooming fee quoted. In the case where your pet’s coat is severely matted or pelted, we may need to shave down your pet as severe matting can cause dermatitis, skin irritation and other possible issues. During the dematting or shave down process, although we are very careful, skin irritation, minor nicks, and stress may occur on your pets, depending on the severity of the mats. As the owner, you will release Woofur from any and all responsibilities resulting from shaving or dematting a matted pet.
Handling
If your pet is uncooperative during his/her grooming, and requires a handler to settle him/her in order to groom, an extra fee of $25 per 30 minutes is added to your base service. If your pet has any behavioural issues, illnesses, injuries or sensitive areas on his/her body, you must inform us about his/her condition prior to your appointment. Woofur reserves the right to refuse service should your pet be extremely hard for us to handle or to groom.
Grooming Fixes
Should you find your pet’s haircut to be uneven, choppy or just not to your liking, please notify Woofur within 24 hours of your pet’s grooming appointment so that appropriate changes can be made, if possible. Minor touch-ups can only be made within 48 hours of the initial groom, otherwise additional charges may apply.
Grooming Hours of Operation
Our grooming salon hours are as follows. Should you require an earlier drop off time, you will need to make a special arrangement with our reception team. Additional charges may apply.
Mondays – Fridays: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturdays: 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Sundays & Holidays: Closed
Senior/Aged/Ill Pets
Generally speaking, pets over the age of 10 are considered aged, or senior, and may have underlying health conditions. If this will be your pet’s first time at our facility, we would like to take the extra precaution to ensure that you understand that older pets may be more susceptible to stress. If your pet is between 10 and 14 years of age, we will kindly ask that you read, review, and sign our Aged Pets Release form. If your pet has not been to our facility before, and your pet is 15 years of age or older, we will, unfortunately, need to decline servicing your dog/cat. As there may be a heightened level of risk for servicing senior pets, for the safety and well-being of your dog/cat, we cannot accept new clients who are 15 years of age or older.
